I'm a Swedish guy born 1972 living in Denver, CO. I love the outdoors like hiking and skiing. I've been reading about science fiction since early years of age and I have a burning interest in our history and what is yet to become of us all.
I work for an IT consultant company and travel the world in my job. The exposure I've had of other cultures had made me more interested as well to research other species out in space.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I certainly believe we have extraterrestrial life out there. The question is whether we can live together with them in piece. Most likely in the beginning the answer is NO. Therefore I am using SETI hoping that man kind will be a step ahead of other species so that when the time comes we will be able to protect ourselves.
I don't think it is wise to send out communication beacons in space. We may get ourselves killed! Instead send spy probes...
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
