Personal background
Hello to all my fellow searchers...

My proper name is Charles Francis Hunt and I live in Hampstead, New Hampshire with my wife Jan and my son Devon. I'm 60 years old (wow) and for the last 30 years I've been making my living as a System Architect.

My profession allows me to play with various technologies associated with Systems Engineering. I've often been referred to as a "technical junkie". I dabble in Software, Hardware and Mechanical designs required for the development of imaging systems used in the Graphic Arts Market.

In my spare time I enjoy touring New England and Eastern Canada on my Royal Star Venture motorcycle and I'm never far away from my Amateur Radio equipment no matter were I am or what I'm doing. I'm also a student of Uechi Ryu Karate, a passion that I share with my son.

Regards to All... Chick
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Life must exist else were, I just don't know what form it will be in.

I expect that it will take many generations before we can make any determination and during that time I would not be surprised if a lot of the physical laws, that guide us today, are re-written. These new understandings will potentially accelerate our search capabilities and drastically alter the methodes of our searching.

I'm not convinced that we should make any attempt to let others know that we exist - sort of like "an insect coming out from under a rock" - what will we expose ourselves to ? Should we hide ? Are they hiding from us ? Are they already here ? If they are then they are probably benevolent... Will they save us from ourselves ?

I run the Seti program because I want answers... It will probably be a journey that could be brought to an end many generations from now, but the first step has been taken and I'm part of it.
