Personal background
I'm 16 and from corn country. My biggest hobbies involve the computer and everything encompassing it. I can get really excited when discussing computers, but I'm no nerd, just a guru. Hehe. I have a great sense of humor and love spending time with my girlfriend.

I've wrestled (amateur) for 3 years and took a year off this year because of bad knees. I'll be returning next year in hopes of a fourth year of a more wins than losses record. :)

Many of the girls around school like to call me Jeffypoo becuase it gets on my nerves. It's really a great nickname. *cough cough*
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
ET is out there, no doubt. Just the thought that we're alone is outrageous. Just think that if each solar system had 10 planets, and 1 out of those 10 had even microscopic life, then multiply that by the number of -KNOWN- solar systems, and then factor in a portion of what we can't see, and you end up with millions of planets that could/should contain life. Humans may discover ET life via scanning the skies, but who knows what alien civilazations use (if anything) to send messages. It's assumed that signals could be picked up via telescope, but alien civilizations may rely on light or chemical transfer of messages and might not even know what radio waves are. Humans will discover ET life within the next 1,000-5,000 years. Yes, that's broad, but in this life time I just don't see it happening. Technology isn't advanced enough yet. I run SETI@HOME because the computer it's on is always running and to have a chance to possibly find something is better than just wasting electricity.

Earth should transmit a beacon. The information we should send should be in the form of a picture of earth. Alien life won't be able to read our text messages, so a sign of a picture of our planet would be good. Granted the signal spreads out, but even a slight portion might do enough to get a response beacon heading in our direction.

Every time you sit there and wonder whether or not there is life out there, just think of some other creature staring at our sun and the others stars, and wondering the same.
