Personal background
I live up in the mountains in East Tennessee, far from the hustle and bustle of city lights. Which makes it easier for me to look at the stars and wonder when the aliens are going to make here to show me the galaxy first hand. At 57, I'm hoping that its sooner rather than later.

I like to read Sci-Fi and Fantasy books and work on my computers. During the summers I enjoy hunting, fishing and camping.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Sure I think extraterrestrial life exists. I grew up in central Florida while my parents worked in the space program. Being that close to our own limited excursions into space it would be unreasonable to think we are alone.

As for when will we find ET, I'm not sure who will find who first. I strongly suspect that we have been monitored all during our brief existence and think that when the rest of the universe is ready, they'll let us know or let us find them. I tend to feel that any other space faring races out there will be so much more advanced than we are that if mankind can get past their destructive qualities, we could be shown so many new technologies to help us grow into a universe with unlimited potential.

I think we are already sending out a beacon to the universe (TV and radio signals) are constantly going out into space. I'd like to see a more refined, and hopefully , we can construct a large unit hat we could broadcast radio and video signals that are much more indicative of what the human race is really like.

I run seti@home because with not much hope of ever going into space myself, I feel this in a small way helps me do something individually to help explore the universe. My Hope is that my kids will one day be travelers to the stars.
