Personal background
Hi! I'm a big enthusiast of renewable energy, especially wind. Wind power is so plentiful that the three states of North Dakota, Texas and Kansas have enough wind resources to supply all the electricity used in the United States. All from a renewable, non-polluting resource, wind. Check out www.awea.org.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There is no question in my mind that there is life outside of this planet. I think the surprise will be in the diversity we'll find. On earth each blade of grass, every tree, all humans are unique creatures. Life has been pushing and contrivin' for eons to fill each and every crevious on this globe with life. All this work has created the incredable abundance of life forms we find all around us. Why would it be any different elsewhere? That same life force we find here, that urge to live and blossom and to fill every cranny with life is through out the universe. And when it finds a hospitable environment, it gets busy and creates. But, we need to find a way to live sustainably on this planet. A way in which the carrying capacity of our world is no longer going into decline. A way in which future generations of all creatures, just not humans, can continue to live and thrive in this interconnected web of life we have here. So when all that new information about our intergalactic cousins comes rolling in we'll all, all of us, still be here to enjoy it.
