Hi,
I'm Amanda, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and work in the health care field.
My interests are in technology... specifically: computers (duh!), astronomy, space exploration, electronics and amateur radio.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I strongly believe in the existance of extraterrestrial life. I could be wrong, but given the vastness of the universe, it's difficult to imagine we are alone.
A specialized beacon, at this time, doesn't seem to be the best use of our resources. Considering the amount of radio energy the Earth is pouring into space every minute, we have a decent omni-directional beacon going right now.
I run Seti@Home because I feel it's an excellent project to study the possibilities of contact with other life forms. |
