Personal background
I'm from Hopkins Minnesota, though I grew up on Minnesota's Iron Range.
I'm a frustrated writer who has stayed home with his little girls as they grow and grow the last few years. I like golf, reading and politics. I would like to learn how to do web pages and sell my writing (hahahaha)...although at 42 going on 43 years old, there may be not much hope.

My parents are WW2 depression generation my mom was a medical tech and my dad was/is a mining engineer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do not know if life exists beyond our planet. I rather doubt it since I believe God put us here for a reason and we are God's sort of grand experiment. Who is to say the Big Entity has no other petrie dishes going on? I would love to see firsthand other forms of life from other places firsthand..even if the finding subsequently exploded my brain into particulate matter. Wouldn't it be worth it?

We should always transmit stuff other than "I Love Lucy" to prove we are serious folk...like the Canadian National Curling tournies.

I run SETI cause I have an open mind and am willing to help out this neat cause...almost to the point of ordering a coffeee mug.
