Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think very strongly that extraterrestrial life exists. But i also think that whereever it might be, the speed of light is just too low to make it possible to communicate with them or to even meet them. The only chance is that they have sent a signal (on purpous or not) a looooong time ago or that they have been travelling a very long time already towards Earth.

So maybe Earth should try to send a signal. But where? I don't think that we can generate enough power to just flood space with our signal. So it would be very urgent to know what spots on the sky might be interresting. And that's why i run SETI@home on my PC.
