Personal background
In the office I'm a qualified number cruncher, but off-work I'm a pilot or an astronaut.

I've been interested in space travel, science fiction, and high tech since I was a tod. It all started from the saturday morning tv shows, getting up at 6am and watching till I had to go to play my school hockey games. Do you remember the show "The Lost Saucer"? with Gomer Pyle (Jim Nabors). I'm pretty sure that was the first space show I ever watched. Since then I've always wanted to be picked up by a spaceship and taken on space adventures and to traverse the universe. Other space shows like Buck Rogers in the 25th century, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who & Star Trek have been keeping me enthralled. I'm a certified practicing space addict (CPSA).

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home to keep the candle burning. I know they're out there.

The question is whether the telescopes are being pointed in the right direction and whether they are powerful enough. As I missed out on the shortlist of being an astronaut this year, I will just have to keep watching the skies and help the human race explore the universe through the seti@home project.
