Personal background
I have completed several courses involving physics, biology and chemistry. I have reached a point where my knowledge allows me to venture into thoughts regarding outer space and alien life and its effects on humans. In addition, I have researched much about space: planets, space travel and the SETI@HOME project in particular.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, extraterrestrial life does exist surely in some organic form or another. Humans may discover extraterrestrial life if they invent technology that allows them to travel at a speed close to light, which will send them faster and farther into outer space. Personally, I think we should transmit information out into space so 'alien life' can find us too. Universal concepts such as optical light, patterns and flashes of light should be transmitted. As well, we should transmit a series of numbers or a pattern such as 1,2,3,4 or 1,2,4,8,16 or 1,3,5,7 etc...in different frequencies, something recognizable by any form of intelligent species.

I run seti@home to help out the organization and becuase i'm curious about outer space. I'd love to join the project personally. I think it would be a blast!
