Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Usually I've been quite keen on all material in connection with extraterrestrial life. My opinion is that those who don't admit that there could be life out there are just simply to boring !!!
Beacon is essential for this kind of project. Just imagine if we had already picked up a signal from beyond! Of course the world wouldn't just take it with great pleasure but also as a concern. We should send the core information on how we are, think and what the primaries are, i.e. mathematical structure and so on.
I use SETI@home because it doesn't make any difference whether I run it on my computers or not. At least I'm making some use of the computer right now.
