Personal background
I am originally from Juneau, AK, which is where I spent my growing years. At 15 I moved to Seattle, WA and earned a Culinary Degree. I didn't stick with that long and moved back to my old passion, computers. I have now worked with computers for over ten years and now own my own hosting and web design business, www.candcweb.com. We also do Unix Administration on a contract basis and perform security analysis for webservers and networks.
I became interested in SETI a few years ago and try to have atleast 2 computers running the SETI program at any one time.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I wholeheartedly believe that life does exist out there, I'm just not sure if it is as advanced as ourselves yet. Some could be simply stuck in the ice-age, but also on the flip side, we could be the freshmen of the advanced life fraternity.

We need to be careful telling others out there that we are here I believe, atleast until we have the ability to defend ourselves beyond our own planet in a satisfactory manor. Missles won't cut it.
