Profile: Scott Drysdale

Personal background
I like alcohol, tobacco, firearms, Harleys, and computers.

I've been doing software engineering (mostly embedded systems) since graduating high school in 1982.

The photo was taken by one of my current projects, a 5 megapixel high dynamic range monochrome camera (one of 10 in the system) which will be used to simultaneously capture multiple stereo views of an interior space using ambient, red, green, and blue lighting. The images will then be processed to create a full color 3-D model of the space.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because those spare CPU cycles should be put to use.

I like the project because I fervently hope that there's something better out there.

My only suggestion is that someone should fix the damn screen saver. It's been crashing my machine(s) since the switchover to BOINC.
