| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I run SETI@home bescause it has my interest. I am fond of science and Astronomy and all related.
Generally speaking I am a little bit sceptical about any outcome of this project. First thing is that WHEN we are receiving signals from space, it could come from a long distance.
For as many probably know, signals need to travel through space. It could be that the signals that we collect can be from a complete other decade. Who can tell? Civilizations could be gone by now.
Or we simply haven't invented a way to have direct communication over long distances that doesn't need a carrier wave. |
