Personal background
Me, well, I was born on August 26th, 1982 in the small German city of Aschaffenburg, but didn't live there for long. I mover around a lot, from Aschaffenburg to Bonn (Germany), then to Bordeaux (France), over Bonn to Vienna (Austria), then to Ankara (Turkey), to White Plains (NY, USA), to Bonn (Germany), to Cairo (Egypt), where I am right now and will be until July, when I'm heading back to Germany for university

Due to me having moved around every couple of years, I have aquired a strange mentality that has parts from many of the places I have lived in, and I think I'm pretty adapt to living under different/difficult circumstances.

Apart from SETI, Computers, the Internet, and the Ars Technica Openforum (the greatest forum there is, along with the greatest SETI Team in the world (Go Team Lamb chop)), I also enjoy traveling and going out, especially to bars, which Cairo lacks, or Sheesha cafes, as seen in the picture (no, there's nothing illegal in them ;-) ), as well as just slacking of and reading.

What else can I say? Not much, really.

Oh, wait, yes, ... "Team Lamb Chop Rules" ... "Crunch for TLC".
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course extraterrestrial life exists. Why shouldnt it?

There are millions of stars in the Milky Way alone, and millions of other galaxys also harboring millions of stars as well. Especially if we take into account the number of extrasolar planets we have already discovered with the meager resources at hand, we can be pretty sure that there are many other earthlike planets as well, many of which will harbor life.

The search for extraterrestrial life has to be made a prime scientific progress, because finding out that we're not alone could be the most important discovery made to date, as it would void so much which has been though of as the thruth until now.

Due to the importance of the subject and the impact of the possible discovery, SETI and other related projects deserve a big increase in funding, because currently, they are vastly underfunded.
