My name is Stan, I have been called Big Stan (due to girth rather than height) so often it has sort of stuck so it seemed like as good a nickname as any. I am 39 years old and my hobbies include: darts, reading, watching telly, tinkering with my PC (self taught, so lots of reformatts) and listening to music.
I live and work in Shetland (a small group of islands in the middle of the North Sea between Scotland and Norway). I am a manager with a waste management company.

I run SETI@home because I am convinced that we are not alone. I am not sure if SETI@home will be the method by which we find them, but until someone devises a more definite solution I'll stick with it in the hope that my input will eventually help find ET.
