Profile: Skyler

Personal background
My name is Rob and I am living in New Jersey at present in what is considered a "shore
community". I started out in construction as a mason (block, concrete). After 12
years of working in that profession I realized it was not taking me anywhere fast,
and was not a reliable means of monitary satisfaction. Seven years ago I decided to
purchase my first computer and taught myself everything there was to know about
it. Now I am a Network Technician for a major ISP out of New York. No easy task this was,
but it turned out to be very rewarding. I also run my own small technical support
business out of my home. At 40 years old I am finally where I wanted to be in the first
place.

All of my life I have been an avid sci-fi fan and have read just about any novel
you can think of. I believe the reason for this goes back quite a few years, to
my family home when I was just a young boy. After witnessing a "vessel" up in
the sky along with my family and a few neighbors, I realized that we are truly
not alone in this universe. I thought there are other "sentient" beings and they
have space travel! Armed with this thought, now I found myself paying attention
to news articles and reading just about anything I could get my hands on to
learn more.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When I stumbled upon Seti on the web I wasted no time at all in joining up because
to me this was the perfect way to expedite my lifelong pursuit. Seti has allowed
hundreds of thousands of us to join forces to search for what I have been looking
for all of my life, proof! With that in mind, Seti can run every single one of
my processors till it fries! One day one of us using this program will find that
"proof" I mentioned and then Seti will be recognized as one of the most meaningful
endeavors that man has ever embarked on. Good luck to all, and keep crunching
those numbers!
