Personal background
DOB may1950, married 1970, 2 sons 1972/1974, one grandson 2001.

Retired from Concurrent Computer Corp 2003 after 13 years as technical support, Service manager and MD; now enjoying doing whatever I want to in Adelaide, South Australia. Previously Grace Bros (2 yrs), Concurrent (2 years), Royal Australian Navy (20 yrs).

Like to play squash and watch movies (not at same time).

Am involved as volunteer with local State Emergency Service unit as Rescue Officer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Other life - obvious, given the size of the Universe.
Discovery - probably slim, given the size of the Universe.
Downside - as many bad things as we would offer them.
Benefits - as many new good things as we could offer them. At least it may concentrate our attention off of ourselves and make us think in larger terms.
