Personal background |
Hi there, i'm a SETI and Sci-Fi-Fan since many many years (started watching Sci-Fi when i was ~10).
I was born in 1977 in the Czech Republic and am actually living in Germany.
My hobbies are (apart of Sci-Fi): table tennis, Badminton and of course: PCs and Internet.
I was studying "Natural Language Processing", but moved to the studies of lectureship.
PS: We won the World-Icehockey-Cup 2005 (3:0 against Canada! :-) ) |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
- 1. Why do you run SETI@home?
I'm running Seti@home, because the idea is great.
There's no way a "company" could motivate their "members" more than Seti. ;)
In a way we all are Fans and Freaks aren't we? ;)
And because i like running PCs - and if it's running, why waste the CPU Power?
- 2. What are your views about the project?
I like it much, otherwise i wouldn't participate. :)
I hope more Users will join the SETI team(s) in the future.
*Boinc is too complicated for "non-freakish-PC-users" (!!!).
I heard a lot of people thinking/talking about stop using SETI if the classic version is being shut down, because they don't like Boinc. And that would be a real pitty.
So maybe as a goal for the future: try making BOINC more intuitive.
Long live the searchers!
:)
