I'm a 28 yr old English teacher living in Japan. Started running SETI as interested in what is out there. It's great that everyone has got together for the search.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It is impossible for life not to exist on other planets. Sooner or later we will make a contact or they will make contact with us.
Maybe a beacon should be used. But what kind of information can be sent that an Alien life form would understand? The only thing I can think of is the same kind of noise SETI are looking for something regular man-made so to speak.
I think SETI is great, I have always been interested in getting involved and now that my PC is running nearly all the time it makes it worth it.
