Personal background
New Albany, Indiana is where I reside. I am a Computer Aided Designer. My hobbies are Video Games, Computers, Space Program, and a new one I am taking on is Telescopes. I have not purchased one as of April 11, 2003 but hope to soon after I do some extensive research on what is best for me. I would like to be able to find a site on the internet, jot down a coordinate from that site and go into my backyard with my telescope and use those coordinates to see what is located there. That sounds like a way cool hobby but as of yet don't know where I can find such information nor do I know of what equipment is required to do that. Anybody that wishes to help me out I would be very thankfull for.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe other life forms exist. It would be totally naive to think otherwise. I am not sure we will ever make contact, but is most definately worth trying. The dangers of doing so are no more radical than the current dangers we now have on our planet of Disease, Wars, and Un-educated actions. A beacon transmital should contain the coordinates of our planet, welcome message, and instructions on how to contact us. All of these things should be transmitted in every language known to mankind. I run this program to see if I come across something of interest and in hopes to help expand the project. I think it is a very thought out process and good for the existance of the human race. I would not currently change a thing with this program and strongly support all who are involved.
