Personal background
I'm 20 years old and live in the City of Trollhättan, Sweden. It's the city where they make the SAAB Cars. I've just completed my military service as
a flight engieer working with the new swedish jet fighter JAS 39 Gripen. It was a cool time and it lead me to rank of Sergant.

Right now I study to become a Cisco Systems Network Administrator. At home I've got 3 computers running SETI. One Mac with MacOS 9.1 180 MHz 80 Meg RAM, P2 400 MHz running Windows 2000 and my new PIII 800 MHz PC with 256 Megs of RAM and 86 gig harddrive running Windows 2000 Server. Later this year I'll get another computer running SETI. It's a P2 700 MHz Celeron PC with 128 megs of RAM.

I've allways bin fasinated by the sky and aliens... I'm a big StarTrek Fan, and I stare at the sky when ever I get the chance to see a star. I've finished the upper secondary school (senior High School) where I studied naturescince and my major was computer electronics. The only chanse to study Astronomy was in my 3rd year and I didn't hesitate one seccond to take the course...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The thing that relly opened my eyes to SETI was the movie Contact. That relly got me in the mood to search more about SETI. When I found out that I could help them with my computers I got fasinated...

The thing that SETI@Home is doing is relly great, they bring people together for a cause that is real and on everyones mind... are there life on other planets and for the first time ordinary people can help without spending a lot of money. So is the project worth while... of course it is... even if it might not lead to anything it has all ready brought people together for a cause, and that cant be bad.

Is there life on other planets? Well if you listen to the "experts" they all say different things. But if we were alone ... "it would be an awful waist of space"... I'm a StarTrek fan so naturaly I thing there is life on other planets... I just hope that the First Contact will be as plesant as it was in the moive...

Should we send signals into space... well we are, but I think that we relly should explore the moon better, go to Mars and the first thing we should do is to start the constructin of a orbital refueling platform for missions to and from the moon and maby one day to the stars. Colonize the Moon I say... as soon as possible...
