Personal background
I am a 42 years old asian immigrant living with my family here in the United States. Me, my lovely wife Jocelyn of 23 years, and our two lovely kids, Byron & Aubrey came originally from the Philippines. I am a Network Support Engineer currently working in Ventura County, CA. I am happy to be living along with my family in a country who pioneered space travel and the continued pursuit of discovering the universe and it's secrets, and am continually amazed at the progress the United States of America has done in pursuit of these goals. Growing up in the Philippines, I was very fortunate to be one among the millions of viewers world wide to watch the historic landing of Neil Armstrong on Tranqulity Base in black & whie tv and to hear his famous words... "One small step for man, one big leap for mankind". From then on, I have always looked up to the heavens at night and wondered at the possibility of men setting foot on some far flung planet in space and discovering new civilizations.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Now at the age of 42, I believe that my future grandson's and grandaugther's would be the one's fortunate enough to witness the same event that I witnessed as a 9 year old boy in the Philippines when man first set foot on the moon. For them, it'll be man first journey to Mar's or some other planet. For now, I strongly believe that the SETI@home project is the best way of discovering other existing civilizations in the known universe. I have always believed that we are not alone in these vast universe we call space. Possibilities of life existing on other planets are viable considering that the main ingredients that could form life on other planets are there, out in the cold dark depths of space.

I am presently running SETI@Home on two networked computers here at home and am planning to add additional PC's and install SETI@Home on them as well. I strongly believe that harnessing the processing power of hundreds, thousands, and millions of computers in collating data to search for extraterrestrial intelligence out there has a chance that one day, we may finally discover that there is life aside from us in this vast universe of ours.
