Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life does exist no doubts .. when we will discover it ..
I am very convinced that we already have been discovered by others.... but that we ourselves are not mature enough yet to discover others...
perhaps because we are looking to lifeforms that are to close to ourselves..
but even god doesn't know how ET life will be like..

I find it bizar that in a world as small as ours we manage to screw up everything and fight eachother to the death for futile reasons

Transmitting a beacon is to my opinion not good / not bad
it is a kind of worst way to look for something, it's the only solution if you run out of 'smart' solutions. But it could be worth the time and energy spend.
what info we should sent? .. anything that reflects the level of intelligence we reached.

I run SETI at home as I do like to add value to this project.
(and CPU cycles as well ;-) )
Perhaps I also hope that when we find ET life or when they find us.
perhaps they could lead us by example to worldwide peace and understanding.

regards...... Haakon
