Personal background
Hi my name is Matt Im from Dunedin New Zealand, Im 27 years old. New Zealand is a really small country and nothing much happens here so Im hoping that the E.Ts that are out there will choose New Zealand to visit first as we are the most friendly people on this planet and they will be hanging out for a can of Speights and a white bait patty or even a Paua patty, and a good old kiwi barby in the back yard. Well what do I do for a job? Well at the moment I have no idea as I have just last week got a new job in a steel foundry doing odd jobs for a start, before this I was a silverculture assistant, that came to an end as the weather here was rain rain and more rain, before that I worked at an motor mower shop elling and fixing motor mowers and chainsaws. I have alot of hobbies ranging from cars which is my biggest hobby of all I love to spend time cleaning them and driving them as much as I can, I also love to go hunting and fishing as much as I can, and my newest hobby is of course this I didnt know about it until I found this website.. Well thats aboit all I can write for now.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1)Yes I do believe that there is intelligent life out there because you just look up at night and see that there is endless amouts of stars, that many stars there must be a few million planets out there that can sustain life, they may not be the same as us but thet are still alive. I believe that they are watching us all the time and are waiting for the right time to appear, because right about now we arent ready for them we have got a lot of conflict going on at the moment to sort out before they show up, and they will show up. Or the other question is have they already contacted us because I look around at what we have achieved in the last 200 years and whats been achieved prior to that and we have done a damn sight more in the last 200 years than we have in the many centuries before, it makes me wonder if they have been coming here and contacting a select few... We of course will never know until that day when they pop and say "how you doin?" Weather or not they come in peace is, well up to them, I mean look at the movie "Independance Day" Whats to say that isnt going to come true.. We will never know until it happens.

2)Yeah why not let them know we are here, Its a bit late any way because as I hear it they could at this moment be watching Lucy or listening to our radio stations or listening into our cell phone conversations(god help them if they listen into some of mine :-))... As for what information we should send I dont know I think who we are and where we are is a good start but I think that we should leave out the part that we are all immature and feel the need to wipe ourselves off the face of the planet that should be left out.

3)I was actually just watching the S.E.T.I@home and was wondering what does it do and how do we know that we have got an E.T saying "How you doin?", I reckon its a great idea that they are including all of us in the search for life on other planets thats so cool. I have no sugestions at this time because I think it rocks aye.
