Personal background
I live in Devon, England, near Exeter. I'm 15 years old and I just lost my job :-( I just built this computer (not finished yet...scabbing some stuff from my dad till I can be bothered to buy my own!) and I thought I'd test the speed against my old AST so I downloaded SETI...

The AST completed one result in 220 hours (1% every 2.2 hours!) and this one completed it's first percent in...just under 3 minutes 30 seconds :-D

My current system is an AMD Thunderbird 900MHz 200FSB, a measly 96MB PC133 SDRAM, two 6.4GB HDD's, Creative 48x CD-ROM, LG 16x48x DVD-ROM and an ELSA Erazor III LT TNT2 M64 graphics board...but soon I will have my Athlonâ„¢ XP!!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe it's impossible that we inhabbit the only planet capable of sustaining life, and any other such planet surely would have evolved even primative life forms. Not belonging to any religious faith myself I find myself wondering why any human belonging to a faith that states we are the only intelligent life in the universe does so. I'm sure that even on our own small planet there are many wonders yet to be discovered...what will we discover when we start using the other 92% of our brains?
