Personal background
I love travel - seeing different places and watching the people. I've been through much of the United States, South America, the Caribbean, Central Europe, and I recently went on a "Best of Egypt" tour. We're off to the Nordic countries next. When I'm not on the road myself, I watch documentaries - Lonely Planet, National Geographic Explorer, NOVA, anything to feed my addiction to the new and different.
My "real life" is pretty mundane. I do infrastructure project management for a large Employee Benefits company. Everything from desktop computer refreshes to data center moves. It's fun, but it's not Madagascar.
My husband is an Amateur Radio operator. He talks to people around the world, and has friends everywhere that we are some times lucky enough to visit. We and our 5 cats live in the woods along the north border of Connecticut.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I fell in love with the idea of space travel when I was a 12 year old watching Star Trek (original series). It now seems VERY unlikely that it will ever become a reality for me, but I'm sure it is for others. I'm hoping that someone out there is broadcasting a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and that the SETI@Home project will find it. I'm sure other places are every bit as weird and interesting as Earth, and I'd love to hear about them.
