Profile: The MacDonalds

Personal background
I'm an Aussie airline pilot working in Asia, currently flying Airbus A330 and A430 aircraft. I've been flying for 27 yrs, Choppers (Hueys, Chinooks), Hercs, then Tristars L1011(-1,-50,-100 and -200's), then B747-200 and 300's, and now on the Bus.
Been an avid follower of space and aviation news and events, with the odd effort at Astronomy. The view at night from 40,000 ft, is always spectacular especially up near Alaska with the Aurora's glowing and waving their curtains of green and red hues.
I'm into health issues more often now as I start to grow into the respectable age groups and wanting to stay here for a lot longer as well. Researching long haul flight effects and upper level radiation monitoring. Nasa has a good site for monitoring the dosages received.
That's enough of me.
Cheers Mark MacD
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm not sure if we will be able to find life out there and if we do I doubt if there will be any common experience upon which to interact with them. Distance is vast even on Earth let alone outer space. Who knows though, I don't and so I am willing to support all efforts of scientific endeavour.
