Yes, it exists, we just haven't found it yet, probably because they are already aware of us and are wisely hiding their existence!
I can't think of all the possible benefits, but the biggest danger would be people.
I run S@H because it just might discover ET, and assuming we don't annoy or destroy them we just might learn a thing or two.
