| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I am sure extraterrestial intelligence exists. Humans hopefully will discover it first. It could allow us to try to avoid detection. We should beware of transmitting anything. Not even desinformation.
I am running SETI@home to keep my machine busy. And maybe it contributes to detect them before they detect us.
The project is great: the idea of using distributed computer power for a task governments count not useful enough to finance - because it lasts much longer than one election period. But the response of millions of humans proved, how important the task is to mankind. |
