I've made a mere 50 revolutions around the sun. I own a company that manufactures Student Agendas (day planners) in Grand Junction, Colorado. I am a Macintosh evangelist and a well-traveled and loyal Land Rover driver. Recently I have begun work on my Private Pilot's certificate.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The chances of us being alone in the cosmos is very remote. Of course I hope the SETI project finds our neighbors. At the moment of discovery one of the benefits I hope for is the beginning of a bit less arrogant and human centered view of our place in the universe.
I think we should transmit a beacon containing the information on the Voyager discs.
The reason I run SETI is to do my part for a very fascinating and worthwhile project. I also enjoy being involved in a distributed processing model. I am also proud to be in the top 1% of SETI data crunchers.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
