Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Does ET Exist?
Yes - the chances against it are so huge that its hard to believe we are alone in the universe. However, given the potential combinations of life and life-giving substances, there may be a very real possibility that our "type" of lifeform is unique, and that we may not realise it if/when we meet ET.

I don't believe that humans have discovered "Little Green Men", Roswell, Alien Sightings, etc. Leave that to the real nutcases (and the X-Files).

2) Should we have a beacon?
Sure - why not. I'd send information using every sense we know of:- sight, sound, smell, substance (touch).

3) Why do I run SETI@home?

To satisfy my curiosity and to prove/disprove my theory!!
