Profile: Grimace

Personal background
I'm 50 years old, and work as a SAP Basis Administrator (Computer Geek) at Manitoba Hydro in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

I'm interested in science and science fiction. However that interest falls decidedly short of role playing and Star Trek conventions.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
(1a) Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?
Yes.

(1b) If so, when and how will humans discover it?
I reckon they'll find us first. (Like they haven't already)

(1c) What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
What happened when Columbus showed up?

(2a) Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
A little late to be asking that question now isn't it?

(2b) If so, what information should we send?
What haven't we sent? (See 2a.)

(3a) Why do you run SETI@home?
I hate to see all those CPU cycles go to waste.

(3b) What are your views about the project?
Funky.

(3c) Any suggestions?
Get back to work.
