I am a quality control manager by day and deal with frankenstien computers at night. I build quality computers for some and repair and build for those who cant afford the good stuff.
I help run a dragstrip where I am the tech inspector and annoucer at Old Iron Classic Motorcycle Riders dirt drags in Three Rivers Michigan. You can see whats goin on at Frnkenstien.com.
I like looking for ET cause I hear all kinds of opinions without at least a bit of effort towards understanding or trying to look. as in my business looking is everything and understanding comes from time looking. it also makes the fear of whatever does happen less because unless we have a big transportation lesson to learn, there may only be radio or some kind of dimentional transition of transporting our thoughts and need to know we are not alone. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

This is not a question of if, it would be in what form as we can see on earth the diverity is great and probably we will not be dealing with microbes if we get a radio signal unless they can communicate that way.
As in humanity there will be as in all mechanics, good bad plus and minus it will all depend on which is on top as they may have an economic or equivelent
force that will undo the pure moment of first contact, I suggest we give an encounter time before we assume we understand which is positive and negative as ther may be a difference of opinion as to which one we are encountering.
I would say a beacon of direction or a handshaking scheme to speed things up a bit you cannot assume they are looking, but anyone with self awareness has to wonder about the stars and Im sure there are stars where they are. which brings up the biggest danger as the true christians will have a hard time with the dissolving of the fabric of us being the only ones that will be in heaven. They forgot to mention gods cration of the whole universe which is quickly moving into the tradition of thier story of the origins...
I run SETI@HOME because you that have an opinion wihout searching or assisting the ones that are looking need not speak. at least I can say not yet and have the information be coming from a source that is as informed as possible.
