Personal background
I'm a graybeard, black powder shooting son of a she-cat 'n my pappy was a grizzly bar. I'm stuck in an anachronistic time warp. Work for the US Postal Service for bread, make 'n play didjeridus for fun. Like muzzle-loaders and re-enactments and primitive camping. Host business web-sites, too. Talk about a problem child!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

Why not? They'll discover us if they think we are important enough. Probably not any benefit and danger....only if we pose a threat.

2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

Thought we already did that...maybe not intentionally. No info just a rhythm.

3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

Just to help the cause - the computer's running anyway. It helps to satisfy curiosity. They're doing just fine.
