Profile: Auroris

Personal background
I grew up in a small town in Idaho and from there saw my first "UFO". Since I was small I've always been fascinated with the subject of space exploration.

I now live in north-western Washington state with my wife and son, where I'm owner/manager of Auroris... designing Web sites, publishing a small online magazine, and composing music from my home studio. (Find out more by visiting www.auroris.com)

My interests range from music of many genres, to flying & aviation, space & astronomy, computing, animals (I'm fascinated with primates and love our dogs), the study of history, and my Christian beliefs, to science and the rather... uh-hum - paranormal.

I'm an avid Art Bell listener (www.artbell.com), as well as a member of Seti@Home's Team Art Bell.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There is no doubt in my mind that life exists elsewhere... if not in our Solar system, then surely in our own Galaxy.

The benefits from discovering these "people"(?) are hundred-fold... as could well be the dangers. It's a risk that in my opinion, we must weigh, and then face as we continue to try making a positive contact.

I do belive that we should transmit a beacon... not necessarily for more advanced civilizations to find (they'd already know we are here if they have been listening), but possibly for less advanced civilizations to hear.

I run Seti@Home as a part of my personal contribution to the cause. It's the least we can do, I feel... almost as if we owe it to our posterity.
