Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I beleive life does exist on other worlds. This project might be the way we find life elsewhere. Knowing that we are not alone is one point but I feel the greatest discovery will be travelling to distant worlds eg: Star Trek. The only dangers, the evil nature of people that will be our down fall.
Yes, we should send a signal out into space. Inviting everyone to visit and to explore human culture.
I run SETI@home to hopefully be the one who finds life first. This project caught my eye not long after I started using the internet in 1999. I was searching for UFO's and alike. I came across the Art Bell SETI group, which in turn took me to the SETI home page. I new then and there this was something to get involved with. My computer isn't fast, so I don't get through the work units as fast as the newer members. One day I'll upgrade my system, then watch out everyone. I'll be pumping the units out and be the first to find life else where in the Universe!
