Personal background
My name is Wendy. I am deeply in love with Star Trek and recently went to the Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas. There were lots of Star Trek officers, Klingons, Borg and Ferengi. I however was the only Romulan!

My love for SETI started about the same time my love for Star Trek took shape (back in the 1960's).

I live in a small town (well, it used to be small) called Idaho Falls. That is in the state of Idaho. Idaho Falls is in the southern part and protected from the nasty weather (like what NY gets!) by the mountains.

I am looking forward to finding ET and going on to other things, like getting to know him or her and finding ways to benefit each other.

I have 6 birds but my first two loves are Star Trek and SETI.

I have passed the SETI@home web site to several friends. Some liked it, some thought I was crazy. But searching for ET, reaching for the stars, constantly looking for a better way, could you and I do better with our day to day lives?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe with all my heart that someday we will contact ET. I just wish that someday would hurry up and get here.

I have no idea how ET will ultimatly be contacted, weather it will be through the SETI@home project or the vast array in NM. I do know that we must keep our eyes, hearts and options open.

The benefits can be potentially wonderfull or devistating. We can learn how to feed thousands or we can teach ourselves 'better' and more thorough ways to blow each other up. It will probably be up to us to choose.

If we do not transmitt a beacon of some kind for others (ET?) to find, or if we are someday not open to recieving then we might as well be blind. If we do not transmit or recieve for what ever reason, then as a human race, we are not very smart are we?

Why do I run SETI@home? Because I believe
