Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Other life is out there, we just have not identified it. Perhaps we have already received signals, but classified it as noise (ouch!). Sending out a beacon isn't of much use. It's just too far away in space and time to get a signal back. I am worried that RF signals may become obsolete. Laser transmission is in the works (Google on SILEX) and we aren't looking for those.
