Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

Does extraterrestrial life exists? of course it does ! That's as certain as humanity itself.
Imagine that you planted 1 billion seeds on a field, they ALL receive a equal amount of sunlight and water. Then imagine that only ONE seed of 1 Billion start's to grow and the rest of the seeds fails! That scenario is very unlikely! the opposite is probably true![i]So where are they? how many are they? how far away are they? why haven't we heard from them by now? Perhaps the nearest civilization is to far away for us to hear? maybe they only listen like we do! That's why we should send targeted radio transmissions to the most promising solar systems. Maybe we are searching the wrong frequency? 1.420 Mhz could be the Universal "off-limits" channel, only allowed for radio astronomy! That's why no civilization are broadcasting there, It would be criminal to do so! The may use the same frequency as we use for TV broadcast's. No wonder we can't detect their signals! they get jammed by our own broadcast's of soap operas![i]Perhaps we are the first civilization in our Galaxy! someone has to be first. Or maybe we discover a grim fact that there's intelligent civilization's out there, but they ALL fail ! Destroying themselves in a nuclear war They will have made the Ultimate misstake! This will be a very important lesson for us. It will be a turning point for our world. That we must work together taking care of our planet! Cooperate in project's like the International Space Station, protecting our enviroment. Not destroying it by "Business as usual" We are aware of the problems facing our planet and we know what we must do in order to solve them. But as long as we continue to claim that the solutions are BAD for our economy! We are Doomed! because if we choose to save our economy at ANY cost, we will destroy the atmosphere together with our biosphere and ecosystem that depend on it.[i]Thus destroying the very foundation our economy is based on.
