I am 34 years old and have been using computers since 1981. I first started computing on a TRS-80 computer and I tought myself the basic programming language.
I then worked with the schools computers we had both Commodore PET and Apple IIc computers at the time.
At home I was using a Commodore Vic 20 with 300bps modem to cruise BBS's.
I then purchased a used CP/M machine and ran a BBS myself on a top of the line for the time 2400bps external modem.
I have been using the internet for quite some time. I started before AOL using the Delphi services then used AOL for some time when it was in its infancy. On my 80386 12mhz machine.
Now adays I have a 1Ghz PIII with 1GB of ram that I built myself. As well as a 500mhz celeron HP pavilion sharing a network and a Cable modem connection.
Most of the work believe it or not that is submitted here is done on the 500mhz celeron which is idle 75% of the time and always working on seti work.
My 1Ghz machine only runs seti client 35% of the time. Usually when I am just surfing or when it is idle.
