Personal background
I'm 38 years old and living in Denmark. I have been working six years in the offshore industry, which gave an opportunity to travel (a LOT) and see different cultures. After my offshore-"adventures" I became IT-manager for a medium sized company - worked there for 5 years, and have now shifted to another mid-size business also as IT-mngr.

Besides working (which actually takes up a LOT of my time), I enjoy soccer, jogging, a walk in the nature and is currently a little bit "hooked" on music from the 80's. Maybe because that was the decade when I went from being a boy and became a man.
Besides that, I spend some time with my friends - these friendships have lasted 30-something years now, so I think we know eachother very, very well...

Finally - and this is most important - I spend much time with my son.
Unfortunately, his mother and I couldn't manage some "difficulties" in our relationship, but we managed to get away from eachother with a minimum of "damage", so even though our relationship ended - it became a friendship in stead.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Are we alone ? Well, I used to read a lot of science fiction books earlier, and I like to think that we are not.

On the other hand, the possibility of finding extraterrestrial life seems to be close to zero - or maybe we are looking in the wrong places ?

Besides running SETI@home for the actual purpose: Looking for ET's, I find the entire project extremely interesting because of the fact that this is a living example of what can be achieved with real distributed processing.
My interest is of course related to the profession I've chosen.

So: Keep the workunits coming ! I'm sure we have a lot of "workhorses" out here who can deal with them on our desktops or whatever equipment is used to crunch the signals !
