Personal background
I am a 24 year old student from California. I currently
work for a company that develops online interactive CME (Continuing Medical
Education) courses. My company incorporates the latest multimedia technologies
to provide an entertaining educational experience for doctors.

I am a computer enthusiast and love buying computer parts that I can't afford.
My primary SETI rig is a AMD 2000 with 512mb PC133 ram. I run SETI Driver with
the command line client to pump out WU's. I have a second rig running a AMD
Athlon 900mhz with 512mb PC133 ram crunching SETI as well.

I enjoy mountain biking and spending time with my fiancé when I'm not on the
computer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think that extraterrestrial life exists because it
would be pretty naive to think we're the only form of life in this massive
universe. Along that line of thinking, I have a hard time balancing spiritual
faith with the idea that there are other forms of life (besides God himself)
that aren't mentioned in any religious material. If God created all things then
why does the bible not mention anything outside of the Earth sphere?

I don't know when we'll discover ET life. I think that we still have too much on
Earth to learn before we venture into space. The ocean alone holds secrets well
beyond our knowledge. The benefits to finding ET life are beyond my intellectual
abilities.

I don't think we should transmit a beacon for ET life. The possibility that war
could erupt with a form of life that is conceivably more advanced than ours is
pretty scary.

I run SETI@home for various reasons. One being it is a good benchmark for my
computer systems. The other, of course, would be the pride in knowing that my
computer helped to find a signal from another life form. I love the project and
love the idea of distributed computing.
