I live in Washington D.C. and I'm a senior web developer at a web consulting firm. In my spare time, I am doing research on the effect of emerging technologies (like distributed computing) on international security (www.gyre.org).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm convinced extraterrestrial life exists but I'm not sure about the best method for contacting it. I'm running the SETI@home project primarily because I'm interested in how distributed computing technology can contribute to terrestrial science. I also participated in Distributed.net's RC-5 project for over 5 years so i'm addicted to the whole stats/units-per-day thing and came to SETI@home for my fix ;)
