I am a retired professor of psychiatry and family medicine. I am 77 years old. My wife and I both use our computers quite a lot, and I think putting my excess computer capacity at the service of SETI@HOME is a useful thing to do. If we ever get an acknowledgement from an extraterrestrial source, it is very likely to be after I have ceased to exist; but that is no reason not to hope for such an eventuality. I do hope for that, because those other beings may have found a solution to the problem of living together in peace - something that has completely eluded us earthlings!
