Profile: Luca Amigoni

Personal background
I was born in 1977 in Italy, where I am still living. I am a programmer and I work as consultant for industrial automation. Meanwhile I am studying to become a software engineer, even if practice is better than theory in my opinion ;)
I believe in the phrase "magis usu quam scripto", that's mean "I can learn more from practice than from theory", but I know that theory can produce important results as SETI@home is.

I have many PCs at home, from which I run SETI. The number can vary from five to ten, according to my needs. They all run linux. I believe in linux: I've founded a LUG with some friends, and I am the actual president.
Some of my PCs are configured to run in cluster mode via OpenMosix; I will set up them to run SETI@home as soon as I will find some (physical) space for a definitive configuration ;)

My hobbies are computers, electronic (specially digital), my car and dogs.
I love my dog: it is a Dogue de Bordeaux, male. I've called it Linus.
For those who asks: no, I'm not a Linus Torvalds devote, the name is from Schultz comics...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe in SETI@home. Don't stop searching ;)
