Profile: Cesar Moreno Fernandez

Personal background
Hello, my name is Alba, and I write to you on behalf of my father, Cesar Moreno, who is a bit shy. I am sorry about my English, but I am one year old, and I am not an expert even in Spanish!!. Dad is 30 year old and he has always liked the topics related to the space, such us the search for
extraterrestrial life. He is A Technical Superior and is employed for the department of computer science of the Distant University (UNED) of Spain. (He might be searching for new pupils in the space. Who knows!!!!). He was always an an enthusiast of games and technology. Nowadays, I monopolize all his attention, and I am proud of it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, Dad has spoken to me much about this project. In spite of the fact that he is an enthusiast of the universe, he thinks that it is useless to know whether it exists or not life in the outer space. Dad believes that the project is extremely interesting since it has been able to take advantage of the whole world computers' calculation capacity to try to solve the problem.
And this is done just by changing the screensaver. This is ALREADY MORE than a success. This is the reason why he takes part in this project.

This reminds him to what happened in the decade of the 60's and 70's with the spatial career. Even today some people doubt about its usefulness. But during those years and the following ones were invented many things that we
use today (another example is the nappy that I'm wearing now).
I hope that the power of calculation acquired by this distributed method, will be used to slightly more useful needs than looking for extraterrestrial life and deciphering a key.
Best regards, Alba.
