Personal background
I think that SETI@home is an great project, and I've been running it almost non-stop since the project started in 1999. We haven't found anything yet: technologically advanced civilisations are going to be very few and far between, and there is a good chance that we may never detect another one.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
As of July 2005, I am reducing my processor allocation for SETI@home to six percent and upping the time for the other BOINC projects, in the hope that they will have a more immediate local benefit.
