Personal background
I from Ontario Canada. I work with computers (Networking). I love body building, martial arts (Taekwondo), and working with old and new technology (computers mostly).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? Of course they do! I hate to think we are the only species here! It would be very stupid to think that.

when and how will humans discover it? We already have. Everyone is just to scared to admit it. It would change alot of what we have been taught and what we believe in. It would change our history. Most people do not like change.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Alot of benifits but alot of problems too. We could finally know that we are not alone and there is more beings out there who seek what we do (Knowledge). We would make new friends that hopefully we could learn from. 1 danger would be technology. We have such a hunger for the new and better technology that we forget to be careful not to go too far that we cannot control it. Can you imagine if you could beam or transport a person or thing from point A to point B. Give new meaning to robbing the bank :) or "I like to get rid of him!".

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

I say we leave them everything about us. Our good points and bad. Leave our history such as our wars. But also leave who we are today. What we have accomplished (music, arts, science etc). Let them then judge us and decide if they want to be our friends.

Why do you run SETI@home?

It helps me to be more involved in the discovery of other life on other planets besides Earth.

What are your views about the project?

Keep going! Don't ever stop! Searching for others out there will bring us (humans)on this little planet closer together, especially when we finally find them. Sounds kind of negative but once we find others we will have someone else to think about besides something stupid like the color of one's skin.

Any suggestions?

I would like to seem more feedback come to my email. Send us some samples of the signals that you decode. Even a 20 seconds audio file to confirm what we are doing here.
