Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
With Space being the size it is , and despite the vast expanse between planets and the odds against life being on them, I find it impossible to believe that we are the only forms of life in the universe.

We are still only now discovering forms of life on our own planet that we never knew existed..

There is most definately life outside of our own planet but wether or not that life is carbon based is yet another matter, it could just as easily be silicon based or energy based since our own biology needs electricity to sustain us...

It would be nice to know that there is intelligent life outside our atmosphere..there seems blessed little inside it..my own hope would be that any life form we may discover would be a lot wiser than ourselves.. but that being the case i doubt very much they would want contact with us for precisly that reason...we as a race are much too barbaric in our dealings with the unknown and governments, by their very nature, are untrustworthy..perhaps i am being cynical but i honestly do believe that no one government or country should be allowed to control information about extra terrestrial life, or indeed to decide on what happens to any we may meet....just a thought
